As part of our Certified Sustainability program in the vineyard, we use machines rather than chemicals to manage our weeds. Traditional weed-removal uses chemical herbicide, but there is a growing body of evidence pointing to carcinogenic effects of such chemicals. The herbicides also affect the population of beneficial bacteria. Those bacteria help impart the wine its typicity from the ground on which the grapes are grown.
