2012 SEMINARS:

Are You the Next Wine Critic?
Ronni Lacroute, WillaKenzie Estate Co-Owner
with Owner Ronni Lacroute & Dominique Mahe
Location:  Barn Gallery  /  Type:  Seated**
Try your hand at writing descriptive notes for two unreleased Pinot Noirs! First you will taste the 2010 KIANA and 2010 PIERRE LEON. You will work in small groups under professional guidance to capture the sensory impressions of each wine, including color, aroma, and palate. Each group will write its own tasting notes just like a professional tasting panel. This may lead to your new career!

Terroir, It’s The Pits!

with Vineyard Manager Mike Rogers
Location:  Block 24  /  Type:  Walking & Standing**
Come spend some time with the vineyard management team to get a hands on seminar about Willakenzie soil. You will get an in depth look at the soil structure with a pit we have dug in one of our blocks. Don’t be afraid we’ll already have the pit dug, there will be no shoveling involved. Also, part of the seminar will involve “Eliminating the competition.” We will give you a run down on how and why we cultivate. We will have tractors and implements on display that we use to cultivate the soil.

How To Make White Wine with Red Grapes
with Winemaker Thibaud Mandet & Owner Bernard Lacroute
Location:  Outside Crush Deck  /  Type:  Seated
It sounds like an oxymoron, but it can be done! Come and judge for yourself. See if you can pick out the wine from a line up which includes our Blanc de Pinot, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay Clos Marco. The person who guesses correctly, including secondary questions about WillaKenzie if there is a tie, WINS a MAGNUM of Blanc de Pinots, an exclusive of the 2011 vintage!
