Each year when harvest is over, everyone at Willakenzie Estate gathers for a lunch to celebrate the successful completion of another growing cycle in the vineyard and the beginning of a new vintage in the winery.

This year we recognized 3 members of our vineyard crew, Juan Valdez, Cresencio Aguilar, and Gerardo Adame pictured above (right to left with owner Bernard Lacroute), all of whom have now been part of the team for 10 years. They join Daniel Fey, Jaime Cardoso, Alejandro Solorio, and Marco Mendez, who were similarly honored last year. Such continuity is rare in an industry more often associated with temporary or transient labor. The combined experience and expertise of this group is a key to optimum grape quality, without which it is impossible to make great wine.
