Dear Friends,

The winemaking team has been busy over the past few weeks topping barrels and monitoring the wines as they continue to evolve. Like anything else at WillaKenzie Estate, there is much thought and evaluation that goes into selecting our barrel regime. We depend on the skill of our winemaker to carefully fine tune and tailor our selection of oak based on vineyard sites and the quality of grapes on those sites. Oak is integrated with the intention of bringing about complexity in our wines without harshness. A variety of coopers are represented in the winery, all French, with differing percentages of oak uniquely paired with various blocks to insure the ultimate expression of our wines.
