Dear Friends,
Trees do matter - they are a vital part of this
estate. Our vines are planted around untouched stands of majestic, native
Douglas fir and oak which help preserve the balance of our ecosystem.
As part of our commitment to sustainability we are continuing to find ways
to promote green practices and reduce the impact on the environment. As we
move into 2010, we decided to reduce the amount of paper we are using. Most
future marketing communications will now be sent via email or communicated
on our website. An example is the postcard sent prior to each cellar club
selection. We will now notify you through email only, beginning with the
May selection. We hope this transition will better serve our commitment to
sustainability.

Solar Panel
Installation
Another new and exciting change is happening at
WillaKenzie Estate - Solar Panels.
Since November of 2009, we have been preparing the property for the
installation of 560 solar panels. The panels should provide between
40-45% of the electricity consumed at the winery. Since we already buy
50% of our power from renewable sources, we will be between 90-95%
renewable energy at WillaKenzie. We are still in the installation phase,
but expect to have them up and running by the end of March. This is yet
another example of the commitment of WillaKenzie in maintaining
sustainable, green practices.
