Its freshness goes a long way in pleasing the palate, displaying delightful complexity and a long finish. It is the perfect balance of fruit and mineral with a touch of sweetness. Serve chilled. This wine has a lovely pale straw color, very clear and bright. It bears fresh aromatics reminiscent of crisp pears, Meyer lemon, white peach and honeycomb. The entry is round and soft yet rich and racy with a touch of minerality accented by notes of apricot, ripe pear, peach and orange blossom. 2010 Pinot Noir Estate Cuvée ~ cork-free
Cellar Club: $25.50 btl Retail: $30.00 btl
The 2010 Estate Cuvée has a beautiful garnet color. The aromas are bright and floral with hints of sweet vanilla, forest floor and petunia. The flavors follow the aromas with a smooth, sweet entry of cherry cobbler, juicy strawberries, and Asian spices. The red fruit and spice transform into a slate-like, herbal finish that lingers on the tongue. This wine is very approachable when young. The aging potential is 5+ years. We recommend pairing with steamed Chinese chicken dumplings, or a simple filet of sole or roast chicken. More..
2009 Pinot Noir Aliette
Cellar Club: $33.60 btl Retail: $48.00 btl
Soft cherry-garnet in color, with aromas of pink peppercorn and rose petals. On the palate, the fruit shows kirsch, cranberry, pie cherries and dried flowers with undercurrents of cinnamon. Medium to full bodied, soft velvety tannins carry into a long and elegant finish. This well-rounded wine will age gracefully for 8 to 10 years, and should be cellared for 1 to 2 years. If opening sooner, decant at least one hour before serving. We recommend pairing the 2009 Aliette with something slightly salty like Greek dolmas, or a hard aged cheese, such as Parmigiano-Reggiano. 2009 Pinot Noir Pierre Léon
Cellar Club: $33.60 btl Retail: $42.00 btl
Deep cranberry red in color, with sweet black fruit and carnation on the nose. The palate displays red plum, red currant and red cherry, as well as unmistakable earth, nutmeg, star anise, and kirsch notes. It is a seductively plump style of Pinot Noir, with structure that builds in the mouth, yet eases gently into a smooth wood spice finish. This wine delightfully surprises with ripe fruit, which is typical of the vintage, and well-balanced acidity. Its elegant profile and balance lead us to believe this wine will age well for 7 to 10 years. Pair with Chateaubriand, or pork tenderloin with plum sauce. More..
2009 Pinot Noir Emery
Cellar Club: $33.60 btl Retail: $48.00 btl
The 2009 Emery is a darker ruby red shade than the Kiana, and with a dramatically different nose. It offers silky, black fruit along with cassis, dusty rose and graham crackers. Distinguished by a more concentrated style, although restrained at first, the growing structure leads to coffee and caramel tones on the finish. We recommend holding 1-2 years before opening, but if you can’t wait, decant 1 hour prior to serving. Pairs wells with braised beef or oxtail, or rabbit stew. More..
