The Influence of Wood on Wine hosted by Winemaker Erik Kramer

A comparative tasting of 2018 barrel samples from specific cooperages and toast levels. Erik will discuss the various influences he has selected for specific roles in the components that will be blended into the finished wine.
Battle of the Taste Buds moderated by Teresa Morrissey, Oregon Director of DTC

Assistant Winemaker Alex Nichols “wines off” against Advanced Sommelier Lisa Redwine in a battle of your taste buds! Alex and Lisa each selected three WillaKenzie Estate wines to pair with three unique menu items created by Chef Karl Holl, Spaetzle & Speck, for this challenge. You will vote to decide the winner of this epic wine and food pairing battle.
Building a Barrel hosted by Master Cooper Douglas Rennie of Seguin Moreau and Enologist David Maas

SEGUIN MOREAU continues to build on nearly two centuries of tradition and more than three decades of pioneering oenological research, consistently delivering top-quality oak for wineries’ barrel programs. Douglas demonstrates the barrel building process from beginning to end while discussing all the decisions that go into making a perfectly consistent vessel that winemakers can depend on to impart select characteristics into their winemaking process.
Winery Tour hosted by Cellar Assistant Kandace Schindler
Location: Tank Level entrance

Come take a walk through our shiny new fermentation level! Kandace will lead you on a tour of the bells and whistles implemented to improve maximization of individual vineyard block characteristics, allow for smaller fermentations and experimentation, and increase efficiencies that elevate our longstanding sustainability commitment.

James and Hospitality Associate Robert McKinley will take you on a spin in our new all-terrain vehicle up to the Chardonnay block. There you will taste the 2017 Estate Chardonnay among the vines and enjoy a special library vintage of our Triple Black Slopes Pinot Noir. This ride is a snapshot of our new Explore the Estate vehicle tour that we introduced the beginning of this month.
