Clairière Pinot Noir

Clairière is a terroir-specific wine grown on a well-protected, high elevation portion of the WillaKenzie Estate. The gentle, southeast exposure and deep soils help create a Pinot Noir of tremendous complexity. The 2019 vintage of this wine offers aromas blackberry, lavender, anise and sage along with savory undertones and streaks of minerality. Those flavors carry through onto a pure and refined palate with supple tannins and great length.

Spice & Mineral

Lavender, anise, sage, and savory undertones with a streak of minerality

A pure and refined palate with supple tannins and great length.

At The Table

This distinguished Pinot will pair well with a variety of dishes, including truffle-infused dishes and delicate filet mignon.

A traditional Pinot Noir/Burgundy glass with a round bowl will convey this varietal’s profound aromatics and structural characteristics.

Serving and Cellar

Serve at cellar temperature 55 – 60 ̊F. We suggest opening and decanting before drinking.

In the Vineyard

Clairière is a colluvial bowl that sits on a cool, well-exposed benchtop near the highest portion of the WillaKenzie Estate, with elevation ranging between 660’ and 690’.

Winemaker Hand

Grapes were harvested by hand from two separate parcels within the Clairière terroir on October 5rd and October 7th, 2019. The grapes from each of those blocks were fermented separately and spent approximately three weeks on skins before being transferred to French oak barrels. The wines then spent approximately 16 months in barrel prior to blending and bottling.
